"Desidero ringraziarla per le ottime pagine e la notevole sequenza di urls ragionati nonche' indicazioni bibliografiche assai interessanti che ha voluto far circolare in rete. "Many thanks for your newsletters, it is always good to keep in touch even if at something of a distance." Shena Lamb, Port Elizabeth. 29th October 1999.
"Hi, I saw your news letter on the Rustlers Valley computer and would like to know if it is possible to be added to your mailing list, I found the letter to be full of very interesting content.thanks. "Entabene Earth Centre" South Africa. 29 Oct 1999
"Your e-mails are so rich with links and connections that they leave me completely stunned and I just run my eye through the addresses and titles in a sort of osmotic absorption process - like I did with all the books I used to buy and never read." Dr.Hugh Laue, Johannesbureg. 28th October 1999
"I was driving to-day and realised that you make the perfect 'person portal' or better yet 'personal portal'. Hell, you only thrive with information. I am sure there are no others like you. I would never have predicted that the global revolution would be SUCH a medium for you astute knowledge. As usual, you are a mindboggle. Bless you, bless my Millennium Calendar." Rodney Barnett, Johannesburg. 28 Oct 1999
"Thanks you once again for your inspiration and wise words. Have you read any of Anthony Stevens's books on Jung? He makes interesting connections between Jung's ideas and the new trends in evolutionary biology." Terry Volbrecht, Cape Town. 21st October 1999
"Keep it up, we appreciate it Samten…" writes Ellen Kitonga from Nairobi: "No, we realize you can't personalize unless we ask a question, but we apprciate your encyclopedic surveys. Perhaps 25% is of interest to any one of us, but that 25% overlaps, and we share with friends and other organizations." "Hope you got my last note of support. I'm so happy for you, and appreciative of your efforts -- real sympathetic joy." Ellen Kitonga, Nairobi, 8 Oct 1999.
"Thanks for sending me all the writing, but I must be honest: I don't really relate at that level, as you know, and I absolutely don't have time to plough through long messages at work. So perhaps you should remove me from that list; though I'd love to know that I still have direct contact with you. " Morna Cornell, Johannesburg. 19th October 1999.
"Your news letter moves beyond the addresses, it reaches the Many by means of passing it on. God knows how many see it. Ed and I, in Arizona, and Mike in Paris, carry the message. So glad we have you, leading the Way, Stay in good health. The Shadowcatcher - Love - Freeman. Arizona. 8 Oct 1999."
"Thanks for all your wonderful messages. I am following up and enjoying the material at the various websites." Sheila Fugard, Californa. 6 Oct 1999.
Dear Samten
Your e-mails are a veritable storm wind, disturbing the peace of an OTHERwise humdrum business morning (I usually start around three or four, before dashing off for a power nap before my fix of animal proteins).
The Louis Trichardt (note correct spelling) piece was a knockout. So much to think about: white lions, white crocodiles, white stones ...
1. I have a white stone which reads: Be still and know that I am God - from the Psalms.
2. I have a friend in New York called "Hvidsten" (White Stone).
3. Grahamstown is in the ALBAny district.
4. ALBAnia.
5. Lineal and other genealogoical descents.
6. Lineages.
7. Transmissions.
8. The White Fluid which runs through all of Life.
9. Seminaries, Seminars and Seminal Works.
10. And then - finally - Tippex - the white fluid of the scribes, whose Sacred Duty is to Correct the Manuscripts, debug the programmes, defuse the bombs, so that Life can continue here on earth in all Its Majesty.
This is The Earth - Our Mother.
Our Father is the Cosmos - the Many Million Things.
If we destroy our Mother, where will Our Father find a Vase for his Little Flowers?
Tread gently, for you tread on Our Mother.

"Thanks for your attempt to warm the cold interface of your mailing list. I have enjoyed the articles and references I have received. I sent you my report of the Conference on Consciousness , I trust you found it interesting. Here is a draft of my "Anatomy of Prohibition." It is written specifically for a South African context. Enjoy. " Andre Croucamp. October 1999.

Gavin Lawson ponts us in the direction of the Arcosanti site:.23rd August 1999. I came across this local artist recently and thought you might be interested. Thanks for the newsletters, there are some very interesting articles. I have given some to Vonnie to read. Another concept which is interesting is this idealistic society ARCOSANTI in the States. They are looking at life from a wholistic way.Cheers,

Thank you thank you thank you for all your energy.....& light. Don Searll.
14th April 1999.
Dear Samten, Thank you for the web-site and the links, feel free to use whatever I write. In the modern world we are reaping the benefit of the ancient Gnostic teaching, C.G.Jung re-introduced it into the psychology of today, Jung felt inspired by the teachings of Philo of ancient Alexandria when he gave the name *Archetype* to a certain phenomenon of the psyche.
Jung defined an archetype, ( primordial image ) as a figure -- be it a daemon, a human being or a process - Archetypes are located in the inaccessible region of psychic reality, the invisible, ultraviolet end of the psychic spectrum. Archetypal images, on the other hand, regularly manifest to the conscious mind in dreams, visions, imaginary experiences, and altered states of consciousness. Archetypes as such, said Jung, are psychoid, ie, they transend the human psyche, while archetypal images are psychic, namely, they belong to the knowable realm of consciousness.
In all of these recognitions Jung was inspired by the modifications as introduced into the Plato concept of primordial ideas by Philo. Now at this particular point in time we are going through a transition, the pregnancy of Gnosis in the human psyche today, will give birth at the conculsion of this transition ( Daleth ) the energy for this transition is being created by our present conflict.

21st March 1999. Great work on webpage! Keep me on mailing list. Sorry to be missing "Samothrace Lecture" -- please consider posting notes/text someday. Omar Scott Davis. Home: | "Natural Magick": | Islam: | "Dustfall" by S.L. Davis.
21st March 1999. I am just back from London, where I sorted out the last details of the Hyp. edition at Thames & Hudson. It will be out in October, they hope. I don't know how you keep so many balls in the air at once! But keep it up. Joscelyn Godwin.
21st March 1999. How extraordinary (but yet predictable in the new science) to think of you today and then receive an e-mail ... I had the most wonderful experience last week in visiting Acacia Park Primary in Parkwood to visit an excellent new food garden, wearing my Peninsula School Feeding Association hat. There is so much promise in this venture, and a great and visionary headmaster to boot. When I saw Jeunesse's name on your yakkity-yak section I just had to ask her - through you - whether there was any reputable tree-planting group in Cape Town, because this vast barren wasteland on the edge of larnie Plumstead really needs trees - nice indigenous ones that don't gobble water. The community dreams of a park where people can come to take wedding photos, like they do in Arderne Gardens in Claremont. Hey, Jeunesse, come dig it, man!
Mike Kantey. March 1999
Also Lance Bloch, what a quiet clever fellow - hey Lance, remember me? I used to date one of the Wengrowe meisies. What are you up to? Tell all, lad, tell all. Are you also a Kerenyi- Campbell-Hillman supporter, of wat is jy nou eintlik?
Sam - I have a new vision of your manifold services: networking the networks - put everyone in one giant bath and pull out the plug! Don't forget those little shiny soap thingies ... Love and all the rest of that touchy-feely shit. Mike Kantey, Cape Town

I saw Heleniq in the week and believe that you are still quite sick! Just want you to know that you are in my thoughts.....and I really hope that you will get well soon. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything....medicine or any other supplies delivered...I mean it! I see you send me an e-mail, unfortunately something went wrong when it was send and I am not able to off load it.. so if you could send it again - please. My friend Patrys ( that also attended the evening at Fiddlewoods) gave me an article that she downloaded from the net to give to you on androdgeny. I'll pass it on when we see each other again. Till we speak again - greetings

21st March 1999. Hello Sam-Ten, Sounds like an interesting Web-site, I like your name, and anyone who has been a Ballerina even in his last life, has captured my attention, I am not an accademic, I learned my craft the hard way, I lived it. I know a few things, and have been around the block a couple of times, so if I can contribute in any way to your web-site, let me know what, when & where. Regards - Shadowcatcher

20th March 1999. Dear Samten, Your website and the book sound intriguing. When and where can we get the book? I'd like to join the forum, particularly in the cross-cultural alchemical aspect. I'm working on my thesis in Hispanic Literature (in Spanish) at California State University Sacramento. Alchemy is the central theme. Thank you and best wishes.

24.03.1999. Thanx for all the fascinating and inspiring information… for all the nurturing and guidance. Its not always easy to share and show how much it is worth to me, but I hope that I can do my little bit to support the continuation of this important work. Jeanne Smuts, Cape Town.

"Thanks for the Hypnerotomachia Hypnero. update. Your idea for the cross-cultural web site sounds most exciting! I shall be racking my brains to think of ideas...." Anita Craig, Cape Town. 17.03.1999
"Many thanks for the latest update of that wonderful world of cyber-arcana that you seem to spend increasingly so much time exploring." Jonathon Frost, Johannesburg. 23.02.1999

"I am quite concerned about your insistence on cyberculture, despite its allure and obvious benefits to people like you and me. I know this is teaching you to suck eggs, but I hope you persevere in your efforts to place works of importance in print - such as "Lady of Realisation". I also believe that a lot of people are very hungry for spiritual wisdom and we must not fail to feed them.
Now I believe the Net is great for shepherds, but we must not forget the sheep in our thirst for better crooks and better-bred collies. Print production and distribution remains a priority, and I have dedicated my life to that service.
I am now in a financial position (I think) to increase the range and number of productions, so let me know what you would like to do. " Michael Kantey, Cape Town. 17th February 1999
A MATTER OF PROTOCOL.
I think that it is extremely rude of many friends - to send their answers on the back of the previous newsletter or emailing. It puts me in the position, of when I want to cut and paste my correspondence for storage and archival purposes - of having to scroll downwards to cut out all the previous material. This takes time, when dealing with hundreds of emails - and I think it is not kosher! The correct manners would be to click on REPLY TO AUTHOR or CTRL+R - then to click EDIT - then SELECT ALL - then DELETE. That will clear all of the previous message and give you a clean white window - addressed to the author and ready to go. It takes a few seconds - and it feels good to start with a fresh page.
After all, it is tantamount to writing a letter to a friend on the back of the letter that your received and posting that. Please consider this small act of etiquette. Or Netiquette.
I think it would be wonderful to create a Website and a more organized vehicle for cross communication - but for the moment this is a very fragile human network, which exists in the midst of extreme fragmentation and lack of resources. It is also founded on a particular people's history - and orientated towards cross-cultural fertilization, among other objectives. Sheila Fugard has given me the rights to publish her book on Sister Palmo (Gelongma K.K.Palmo) 'Lady of Realization' on the Internet. She has also very kindly offered to sponsor space for a Website.
I am working towards setting up a discussion Group on the History of the Tarot on the Web - You can help by joining, if you are interested, at Email:

"Thanks for the continuing missives. You've probably already hit all the important alchemical links but this one, http://www.hermetic.com/stavish/ , was recommended on a Spirit Web forum and since it's focus is Fire it could be of interest. I haven't even looked at it myself." Dr. Hugh Laue, Johannesburg.31.January 1990.
"Nice to see you spotted Marcella... She's interesting. Also very pleasant. Have a look at the following (you might also like to join the group - there are some AMAZING people on it): The JUNG CIRCLE I have always assumed that you were aware of my thanks... Perhaps presumptuously... Lots of love. Michael Dickman, ParisThank you for your latest communication as always you are an extraordinary fund of cyber-information. Jonathon Frost. With regard to being on your mailing list, keep me on. The links have turned out to be a valuable source of not just knowledge but also inspiration. Mark McLaughlin, Cape Town, 16 February 1999
Dear Samten It is always a treat to receive your communications. Jeunisse Parks, Trees for Africa.
Please keep me on your mailing list... you send some fascinating stuff, I just have not had the time sometimes to follow your links and get into it properly. Lance Bloch, Johannesburg.
"Just to say a very belated thanks for putting me on your emailing list. It has been a long time since I first contacted you, but I have found the links to sites and the material you have sent to me VERY VERY absorbing." Joanne Taylor, Knysna.
Thanks for your, as usual, extremely intriguing news. Thanks for your latest feast of interesting internet recommendations. Terry Volbrecht.
"…a big thanx for all the 'massages' the om mani padme hung is totally glorious and can't wait to visit some of the other sites." Glenda Hutchinson, Johannesburg
The info is great, and will be shared with Theosophists, Sangha, other spiritual friends. " Ellen Kitong, Nairobi
"Samten, all your communications are a joy to receive, your enthuisiasm and vibrance always leap off the pages to me." Dave Culhane, Dublin.
"Had a chance to read some of your earlier mailings as well. Had the idea that you should look into setting up a *proper* mailing list (using a list server like majordomo). You'd need a host to run it but then messages could go back and forth and there can be an active community discussing the issues instead of a one-way mail shot. Maybe one of the big sites would be interested in helping you …" Paul Rossouw, London.
"Have just published a smallish site at - http://www.cope.co.za/intercon/inter1.htm
Please have a look & let me know..." Mike Cope.
"Hope everything is fine with you and the FOUR ELEMENTS class is going well. First page of my website is up at - http://members.aol.com/eswiz/Holegame.html I will link to my other pages through the images on the page with an image map. Am starting work on them. Would appreciate any comments."
AND UROBOROS - FOR THE PRINT FANS…
"I am very impressed with "Uroboros" and its rich material about the Goddess. What about "Sacrifice" as a theme for Uroboros? Looking foreward to your next Alchemy edition." Monika von Molkte, Johannesburg.
"Loved every bit of the Goddess. I think my "Uroboros" was removed from my desk, hope the person who gets all the information on the Goddess becomes a drop more enlightened. " Gail Meneses, East London.
"Thank you also for including me in your mailing-list. I'm looking forward to looking up all the URL's you quoted. Your reference to the Archetypal Fool particularly jumped out at me, because of a book I'm currently reading, which deals with the alchemical path of The Way Of The Fool. " Marcella Gillick, Dublin
"Thanks for the copy of "The Serpent Lineage". Very interesting and well written. Will put it in my library. Makes me wish I was there for your classes. Best of luck to you in the new classes. Did I hear you say that transcripts of your FOUR ELEMENTS class are available? If they are, I am interested. Thanks again for all the great URL's. ( I especially liked the Jung site ) - Ed.
